DRIFT is accepted at DSN 2026.

I couldn't be more thrilled — the result of my very first project has actually paid off.

The funny part is how I find out. Prof. Jeong almost never messages late at night, so when his name lights up my phone, my first thought isn't the paper — it's that I've broken the NAS, our lab's shared storage. An acceptance doesn't even cross my mind.

It's the opposite. I tell him I think I'm going to cry. (He says I'm allowed to.)

Now I can say what's in it. To check that it holds up as DGAs keep evolving, DRIFT is evaluated on nine years of data — over 260 million domains — with real-world malware samples from a collaboration with Fraunhofer FKIE in Germany.

Chaeri and I are the co-first authors. We were both third-year undergrads at Sookmyung when we started this — I'm now in my fourth year, my seventh semester — and I'm part of the first cohort of the Division of AI Engineering, so having our first paper land at DSN, one of the top venues in dependability and security, still hasn't sunk in.

I'm most grateful to the two people behind it: my colleague Chaeri, and Prof. Jeong, who has guided us the whole way. This paper is as much theirs as it is mine.
